HOW I TAKE CARE OF MY SPRAY TANS
I’ve been getting spray tans from Airbrush Tans by Hannah for years. Although, her spray tans are the best in Oklahoma-there are still multiple ways to help your spray tans last at least 8-10 days without fading. Why invest in a spray tan when you’re not going to take the appropriate steps to take care of it? Here are my tips and tricks!
Items I use:
- Spraii Exfoliating Mitt- $25 from Airbrush Tans by Hannah
- St. Tropez Prep and Maintain
- Cerave Daily Moisturizing Lotion
- Sol de Janeiro Brazilian 4 Play Moisturizing Shower Cream-Gel
- Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bod Buff Smoothing Scrub N’ Mask
- Tan Luxe The Face
The first step to a great tan is shaving and exfoliating the day of your tan. The Spraii Exfoliating Mitt that Hannah sells is by far the best exfoliating item i’ve ever used. It takes any extra tan off that you may have a prep your skin for a smoother tan!
The next step is using the St. Tropez Prep and Maintain right before you get your tan. If you’re like me and have dry skin, this has been an absolute game changer to prep and moisturize your skin before your tan without compromising it. It keeps your skin from cracking and drying out while the tan develops!
After your tan develops and it’s time to shower, I recommend not using soap. Just wash off the excess product and gently pat yourself dry with a towel. Once you get out of the shower, immediately moisturize with the Cerave Daily Moisturizing Lotion. This is the best lotion in my opinion and believe its a huge part of why my tan lasts at least 8-10 days. It has hyaluronic acid in which is extremely moisturizing and a little goes a long way. Moisturize every. single. day.
Body wash may not seem like a big deal but there are certain body washes you should not use when you have a spray tan. Especially body washes that have oils in them that will strip the tan. Never ever use Dove products. I personally have found the best body wash to use is the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian 4 Play Moisturizing Shower Cream-Gel. It is moisturizing and smells incredible.
Another thing I love to do is use the Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bod Buff the night before my tan. It’s a gentle exfoliating mask and it’s also extremely relaxing and feels so much like a self care! This step isn’t as necessary as the other’s but I definitely felt I needed to add it into my routine!
One last tip is using these Tan Luxe The Face drops. You’ll learn very quickly that your day and evening skincare routine removes the tan from your face quicker than your body. I use these when the tan on my face starts fading. I mix it into my moisturizer in the evening and the next day my face looks like I just received a fresh spray tan! They really do work and are worth all the hype and the color matches the spray tan perfectly! These are a must have in my opinion!
If you take these steps to maintain your tan, I promise your tan will look fresh for a minimum of 8-10 days! These products have all last me FOREVER and may be an investment up front but a spray tan in itself is also an investment so why not make it last as long as possible? Hopefully you all feel these tips are helpful and would love to answer any questions you have.
